In my second project, I undertook the challenge of creating a single-page web application that aimed to provide a seamless user experience for Tourism New Zealand’s campaign targeting short-term visitors arranging their own transport. The application’s core functionality included information input, validation, displaying data, and providing meaningful feedback to users.

To start, I developed an intuitive interface where users could input information relevant to their travel plans. The application then validated this information and provided immediate feedback, notifying users whether the validation had succeeded or failed. Based on the validated input, the application dynamically displayed transport options tailored to the user’s preferences.

To enhance the user experience, I ensured that the application had its own distinctive look and feel while maintaining consistency with the Tourism New Zealand brand. By leveraging HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, and the Google Maps API, I integrated interactive elements, responsive design, and mapping functionality to create a visually engaging and user-friendly experience.

The second part of the project involved calculating transport costs, which included factoring in fuel consumption based on the chosen vehicle type and the distance to travel. This added functionality provided users with transparent and accurate cost estimates, enhancing their decision-making process.

Through the thoughtful utilization of web technologies and meticulous attention to user experience, I successfully created a single-page web application that fulfilled the project’s objectives. The project demonstrated my proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, and the integration of external APIs, all of which contribute to delivering innovative and functional web applications.

By combining design aesthetics with seamless functionality, I strived to provide an enjoyable and informative experience for users exploring transport options and calculating costs. This project showcases my ability to create dynamic and intuitive web applications that align with client objectives and deliver a superior user experience.
